Went out for a 2.5, surprisingly my toe did not hurt at all! Phew. Feel like I dodged a bullet there, I seriously thought I'd be sidelined for awhile. My SI pain wasn't bad, just a little discomfort and tightness here and there. Even my abdominal cramps didn't show up until the very end of the 2.5 miles, and it wasn't nearly as intense as normal. Hoping this trend continues and I can actually make some progress! I love being back out there. Today I just kept thinking to myself how lucky I am to be able to run. Despite dealing with injuries and setbacks, I can still go out there and do it, and the same can't be said for alot of people out there. Running is weird... today I felt hot, sweaty, tired, but it all felt so good. And I'm thankful that I can experience it all
I make a really bad southerner. This morning it was 75 at about 8:45 am when I went out for my run. Holy crap, I felt like I was on fire by the time I was done. Probably didn't help that it was in full sun and 92% humidity, but still, I should be able to handle that! I feel like 75 shouldn't be that hot!
Also, I have officially signed up for my 2014 Georgia Spartan Sprint. They are running a 30% off deal today, couldn't pass it up! 50 bucks including insurance, plus I'm supposed to get a $10 rebate when I show them my military ID. I will most likely also sign up for the Carolina Sprint, which is 2 weeks after the Georgia one. Also still considering this year's Carolina Beast. I want it.... but still need some more time to see how feasible it is for me
There's also a special on the Merrell Down and Dirty mud run, happening in october at that same venue in Conyers that Spartan Race uses. Will definitely sign up for at least the 5k, although I *want* the 10k.....
Time to go stretch and strengthen before I head out for some errands. Peace out yall!
