Weight Loss

On September 19th 2012, right before my 26th birthday, I officially started my weight loss. I weighed close to 200 lbs, wore a size 12, and looked something like this.

  


9/19/12 - 195.8 lbs

I began tracking my weight loss by...

- Weighing in every other Wednesday
- Creating an Excel spreadsheet to track my weigh ins. This held me accountable to reach a certain goal weight for each weigh in.
- Counting calories with the phone app Lose It
- Designating a schedule for exercise
- Taking progress pictures. I am not posting these here because they are all of me in a sports bra and underwear - and no one wants to see that mess.



October 2012 (1 month in) - 187.8
I had just "run" my first 5k, the Zombie 5k at Fort Gordon



November 2012 (2 months in) - 182.0
My second 5k, the Great Santa Chase. Time was 35:51

January 2013 (3.5 months in) 176.4


March 2013 (5.5 months in) - 161.8

I have gained some weight back - but I look better than I ever have! I wear a size 6 and weigh somewhere in the 160's. But lately I've learned to ignore the number on the scale, and I now instead focus on staying active, getting stronger, and making better food choices.
